This year was my first year, since before the pandemic, auditioning for summer intensives. I was so eager to audition. This season I auditioned for Joffrey, The Washington Ballet, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, Ellison, and Dance Theater of Harlem. I was suppose to audition for Maryland Youth Ballet and Ballet West but I ended up having oral surgery. To my surprise, I was accepted into all these amazing programs! So, with the help of my ballet teacher, Mrs. Avery, and my parents I decided to recover from surgery and accept the offers from Joffrey and UNCSA. I honestly wish I could have attended them all but most of the dates overlapped. Joffrey offered me a 50% scholarship for the summer and they accepted me into their BFA trainee program for the upcoming school year. I couldn’t believe it! In the end we decided to go and learn from them this summer and for the school year I will stay at my current studio and continue to train in order to have more preparation for next year when I think I will be ready to train in a company. Honestly their acceptance really took me by surprise, I am truly honored that they gave me this offer.

I am so glad you are going on this journey with me! I look forward to sharing more of my experiences here with you and maybe a performance or two. Below are pictures from my auditions. I got to see friends and family along the way. I hope you enjoy. Thank you again for your support.
