Hiiii,
This week I got to leave NY and go home for spring break!! It was so refreshing to be home. Although I love the city, sometimes I need a calmer and slower paced environment. 😌 While I was home I got some well needed rest; and I got to spend time with my family and friends.
Personally, I don’t like to take a full week off of dance. Sometimes it’s hard for me to get back into my rhythm when I return to dance classes. Plus, I just don’t like taking time off. So instead of 4 hours a day of dance, I’ll do like 1.5 hours a day of dance and then conditioning.
So while I was home I took class with my teacher Mrs. Avery at her ballet school, Avery Ballet!!!! I was only able to train with Mrs. Avery for a year last year but during that time I improved rapidly! I truly cherish Mrs. Avery, so whenever I’m home I try and take class with her. It has been a few months since I last saw her so it was so lovely to see her and learn from her again! ☺️💞
Another thing I did while I was home was…
I got to go to youth group at my church 💖. Since being away, I haven’t been able to participate. I love going to youth group because I get to connect with people that aren’t dancers and I get to sing on the youth worship team. (Which I truly enjoy!) So while I was home I went to youth group and I got to see all of my friends and youth leaders!! My friends and I played around a laughed a lot. It was so great to catch up and reconnect with everyone. I’ve missed them all so much! I’m so grateful for that time. 🥰🙌🏾
Lastly, my favorite part of being home was seeing my mom, dad, younger brother, and my dog!!!! It’s so hard not to see them every day. I really miss them at times. It was so great to see them in person!!!! The second day I was home, it happened to my grandma’s 70th Birthday!!!! So I got to celebrate her birthday with her. I’m so happy I got to see her and celebrate her special day!! 😘
While I was home, my brother and I got to hang out a lot. One of the days I was home, I went to watch him at his Taekwondo class! It was so cool to see him doing his thing! I also got to spend some quality time with my mom. I went on a walk with her which was SO relaxing. We had a really great conversation! One of my favorite things to do is to work out with my mom, so I’m very glad I got to do that with her! I also spent some father daughter time with my dad! One night I made dinner with him and we also got to chat a lot which was fun! Something fun we did as a family was we went to go see the new Kung Fu Panda 4 movie. I honesty didn’t really think I was going to like the movie bc I’m not a big fan of cartoon movies but it wasn’t bad! I recommend it! It was really good.
To conclude, I had a very rejuvenating time at home and I’m so grateful I got to get away from the city! Now back to NYC! 🏙️💞
